Healing Through Connection

Introduction

Clients will be participating in Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) using the PsyTechVR Mental Health & Wellness Application as part of their treatment for anxiety-related conditions. VRET is an evidence-based psychological intervention that uses virtual reality (VR) technology to simulate anxiety-provoking situations in a safe, controlled environment. The goal is to help clients gradually confront and manage their fears under the guidance of a qualified therapist.

The software incorporates guided virtual reality exposure therapy integrated with CBT and ACT for people recovering from work related psychological injury and motor vehicle accident trauma. Sessions are gradual, structured and trauma informed. Clients practise coping skills in immersive scenarios to reduce avoidance and rebuild confidence in day today tasks.
